This Wahl shaver features a pop-up trimmer that can be used to trim hair near the nose, ears, neck, and chin, which is great when more precision and accuracy are needed in those trickier areas. The shaver is equipped with ergonomic rubber grips on the handle and has a sleek, masculine look.
Wahl Shaver Product Specs
Included with your purchase of the Wahl shaver is a beard brush, cleaning brush, storage pouch, foil guard, and a charging cable—everything you need to store, transport, and use your razor. It operates on a rechargeable battery that can run for up to 60 minutes between charges. The battery does not charge while the shaver is in use, so we recommended that you plug in the razor between shaves. The user's manual is not included with the shaver, but we do recommend downloading the PDF from the Wahl website. Proper use and cleaning are necessary in order to prevent motor malfunction.
As mentioned before, the Wahl shaver is equipped with a titanium foil guard. This is a key factor in providing the bump-free, comfortable shave promised by Wahl. It also reduces bacteria buildup and is hypoallergenic. If you happen to have extremely sensitive skin, even this razor may cause irritation, but for the average man, irritation will not be a problem.
If you have ever used an electric razor, you know that they can be fairly noisy. The Wahl shaver is surprisingly quiet, barely making a sound at all. It also fits nicely in an average-sized hand and weighs just 14 ounces.
The Wahl Clipper Bump-Free Rechargeable Foil Shaver can be purchased for around $50. It is available at retailers such as Walmart and Target and can also be purchased online from Amazon.

Though it has several great features, the Braun Series 9 remains relatively simple to use. The smart charging station, while convenient, adds an extra level of difficulty, but once it is set up, it is easy to put the razor right into the dock after each use. Changing the cartridges in the smart station is a minor inconvenience.
The battery can run for 50 minutes on a full charge, but the battery should be fully charged every time if the charging dock is being utilized.
The look of this razor is not as sleek and modern as that of the competitors resulting in a cheaper look, but the technical design is excellent.

- Intercept Shaving Technology- Pre-trims longer hairs
- Pivot & Flex Foil Technology- Stays close to skin for smooth results
- Rechargeable Battery- 60 minutes of cordless runtime
Like the other razors we have looked at, the Remington F5-5800 is a foil shaver. The blades of this razor are made of surgical-grade stainless steel which is strong and hypoallergenic. The head of the shaver is slanted and follows the contour of your face due to the independent suspension of the foils. While this is a very basic, straightforward shaver, it does manage to accomplish similar feats as other shavers that are equipped with more advanced technology.
One unique technological feature in this razor is the Intercept Shaving Technology which is characterized by a small trimmer in front of the shaving foils which will pre-trim long hairs before they reach the foils. This allows the foils to provide a closer shave because they don't come into contact with the long, tricky hairs. The Remington shaver also has a pop-up trimmer which is smaller than the trimmers on other electric shavers, but it is still useful. Like the pop-up trimmer, the Remington shaver, overall, is less powerful than the other shavers we have looked at, but it does the job and is more affordable.
A charging cord, protective cap, and a cleaning brush are all included with this razor. The rechargeable battery will run for 60 minutes on a full charge, and there is a nice battery gauge on the razor so you know how much time you have left. Unlike most other shavers, a carrying case is not included with this razor. This may be one reason for the lower price tag. You can purchase the Remington shaver for around $40 on Amazon.
At around $40, this is one of the most affordable electric shavers we looked at.
Ease of Use
With its basic design and few features, this shaver is very easy to use.
At 60 minutes per charge, battery life is longer than the more complex shavers.
The look of the shaver is more outdated than others on the market, and the materials used look cheaper. However, the battery gauge is a nice touch, and the addition of the Intercept Shaving Technology is evidence of good design.
The battery gauge and Intercept Shaving Technology are the two prominent features. While effective, they are both very simple. Due to the lower price point, this shaver does not have as many features as its competitors.
If you are looking for an electric shaver that will give you a clean shave without irritation or hassle, the Wahl Bump-Free Rechargeable Electric Shaver is a great choice. It comes in at a much lower price point than many of the competitors, but it lives up to them in performance. While it is missing some of the more advanced features, it has a great design and includes everything you need to maintain your facial hair. It definitely out-performs the other razors available at similar prices. Overall, we give the Wahl shaver 4 out of 5 stars.
